According to the 2015 rankings of China's Happiest City, released by Oriental Outlook magazine and Annual Report of Urban Development of China, Chengdu of Sichuan province has been selected as the happiest city in the country. Zhengjiang province's Ningbo and Hangzhou follow as the second and the third.
From August 1 to September 30, more than 80 million Chinese citizens were involved in this nationwide survey. A data analysis shows that Chengdu, Ningbo, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Xi'an, Changchun, Changsha, Suzhou, Shanghai and Beijing have become the top 10 happiest Chinese cities this year.
The survey also selected the top satisfied cities for specific categories. It's notable that Chengdu came first in housing, traffic and weather as well. Meanwhile, Shanghai received the highest satisfaction in the Happiness Index of Healthcare, and the Chinese capital Beijing scored a good performance in education thanks to its profound education resources.
The organizers of the survey believe that such indices can not only show cities' significant achievements in urban construction, but also help to share successful experiences across the country, further enhancing the image of Chinese cities.
